General Terms and Conditions.

The offer, sale, purchase, and delivery of products on the website, www.LightStore.co.za (seller), is governed by the following general terms and conditions:

  • English shall be the language to be used to communicate and contract between the seller and buyer.
  • The website will provide information about the main features, materials and functions of each product, its price and shipping costs (where applicable). Should further information be required by the buyer, the buyer must email [email protected]  or call (011) 465-5697 for any additional information.
  • The main characteristics, functions, purposes, capabilities, materials and other relevant information of the products are shown on the website on each “product page”. No guarantees whatsoever, expressly or implied, other than those specifically mentioned on the website are given by the seller to the buyer.
  • The buyer, by submitting the order form, automatically accepts and agrees to understand and to observe the general terms and conditions during the relationship with the seller.
  • Once the purchase has been made by the buyer, the seller shall send to the buyer, through electronic mail, a confirmation receipt of the order.
  • Purchase requests from countries other than South Africa should be emailed directly to [email protected].
  • Payments will only be accepted by credit cards, debit cards, EFT’s. Masterpass and SnapScan via Payfast or direct bank transfers into our bank account. All financial information will be sent by encrypted protocol to Payfast, which provides secure electronic payment services to the seller. This information will not be used by the seller except for performing the procedures relevant for the proper fulfillment of the order. The privacy of the buyer is of utmost importance to the seller.
  • The price for the purchase of products and the shipping costs (where applicable), as indicated on the order form, will be charged to the buyer’s bank account upon purchasing of the products by the buyer on the website.
  • Prices or specifications shown on our website are subject to change without notice.
  • Ownership of the products shall at all times remain vested in the seller up until such time as the total purchase price for the products have been paid in full, to the satisfaction of the seller.
  • All products sold on our website are covered by manufacturers warranties.
  • Where required, the seller shall deliver the products ordered and paid for by the buyer via a reputable third-party courier services or agent.
  • The Seller will deliver, via the courier service or agent, the products, as soon as reasonably possible (generally shipped out from our premises within 2 to 7 days), but no later than 10 working days of receipt of payment (“delivery period”) unless otherwise stated. The buyer must take note of lead times for certain products such as imported and custom fittings.
  • In the unlikely event that the seller is unable to deliver the products, for whatever reason out of its control, within the delivery period the buyer will then be notified timeously. The buyer may then elect to: (a) wait for the products to be back in stock (order placed on back order) or (b) purchase suitable alternative products or (c) cancel the order for the products and the seller shall reimburse the full purchase price paid by the buyer.
  • Refunds due to the buyer from the seller shall be paid within 10 working days of such request by the buyer.
  • The seller’s obligation to deliver any products is completely fulfilled when the purchased products are delivered at the physical address nominated by the buyer in the order form, or the buyer collects the products from the seller’s premises.
  • In the unlikely event that any products ordered by the buyer from the seller were not successfully delivered to the buyer’s delivery address, within the delivery period, then the buyer must notify the seller  at [email protected] or (011) 465 5697.  The seller shall, following receipt of a notification as aforesaid, verify the information provided by the buyer against the delivery records of the seller. If determined by the seller that all or part of the products ordered were indeed not successfully delivered, the seller will process and deliver such non-delivered products as soon as reasonably possible.
  • In the unlikely event that the buyer receives a defective or damaged product from the seller, the buyer must then contact the seller within 48 hours of delivery of the goods. The buyer may contact the seller via email at [email protected], telephonically at (011) 465 5697 orcomplete an online product return form. Once the seller receives the buyer’s communication and validates the claim the seller will make arrangements to collect the damaged products from the buyer. The seller will not accept any responsibility or liability for any damages not reported, by the buyer, within the 48-hour time frame.
  • Once the seller has received and inspected the damaged goods the seller will arrange for prompt delivery of the replacement products as soon as possible.
  • Products received by the buyer with broken / cracked glass or dented shades are not considered defective and in these cases the seller will deliver a replacement piece to the buyer as soon as possible.
  • While the greatest care is taken to ensure that colors of products displayed on our website are as close as possible, colors may be influenced by your computer settings and other factors.  Actual product colors may vary, within reason, from the colors of the images displayed on our website.
  • Products may also, within reason, differ from those pictured on our website due to natural variations in color, finish and scale of the image.

  • The Seller may, at its sole discretion, accept returns of its products provided that the goods are returned in “as new” condition, uninstalled and in the original packaging strictly within 14 days of receipt of the products by the buyer. (This is applicable to products falling outside of the 7 Day “Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee” period.)
  • The seller will not consider any product returns after the expiry of the 14 days.

  • Once the buyer’s return has been authorized by the seller the seller shall make arrangements for the collection of the products at the buyer’s cost.
  • The buyer shall ensure that the products being returned to the seller are available for collection, by the seller, within two (2) working days of such request. Failure to comply with this timeframe shall result in the product return being considered null and void.
  • The seller is unable to accept the following products for returns:
    • Products bought on special promotions or having enjoyed additional discounts.
    • Products which have been assembled or installed by the buyer.
    • Products not in their original undamaged packing and or not in “as new” condition.
    • Custom manufactured or modified products.
    • Products imported for the buyer.
    • Gift vouchers.
    • Bulk or project orders.
    • Light bulbs / lamps, LED strip, drivers, transformers, and batteries.
  • The buyer agrees to pay the seller a 15% handling fee based on the full purchase price of the products being returned (excluding delivery charges).
  • The buyer’s refund (excluding the 15% product handling fee and the  initial and return delivery charges) will be processed by the seller and paid to the buyer within 10 working days of good having being received by the seller.

  • The seller shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential damage, loss, or injury which the buyer may suffer from or arising out of any cause whatsoever from the products purchased. The buyer hereby indemnifies the seller from any and all claims for damages, loss or injury arising from the buyer’s use of any of its products offered or sold on the website.
  • This website is hosted, controlled and operated from the Republic of South Africa and therefore governed by South African law and the buyer and seller submit to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

  • The seller reserves the right to amend and or change at any time any specification or details should it be discovered that the website information is incorrect.
